There are many things we can introduce into our bodies that are toxic. In fact, some things that are healthy can become toxic if we overdue it. There are some ingredients though we may have that are like a cancer that slowly eats us alive from within; they are anger, hate, and fear.
When we hold anger, hate, or fear in our body’s, we trigger chemicals like cortisol (the stress hormone) that are quite simply not meant to be there. The bodies stress reaction is an ancient one that was designed to give us an instant boost of energy to allow us to escape danger. Yet when we continually inject our system with cortisol by holding onto these danger feelings and thoughts, we flood our bodies to a point where we can no longer maintain balance. We are in a continual pool of energy that slowly drains us over time and breaks down the immune system.
Science has proven that high levels of stress over prolonged time is a leading cause of heart disease and many other ailments. This is because the body was never meant to be in a sustained level of stress. Instead, our normal and healthy state is one of love and joy. When we harbor hate for example, our blood pressure will rise each and every time we focus on the object of our feelings. We can then act out of that hate through rage or we turn that energy within ravishing our health. We are not meant to be in this state of being.
In today’s politically charged world, it seems that the world is thriving on a cesspool of hate and anger when instead, what is called forth is love. When we so dislike or loathe someone that it causes such intense feelings to surface, we activate our bodies to respond as if we’re in a fight or flight situation. This could be an individual, group, or situation. Our bodies don’t distinguish the difference – it simply responds.
If you want vibrant health, love, and joy in your life, you have to examine where hate, anger, and fear exist. If these have taken up permanent residence in your life, you are slowly killing yourself. If you struggle with health issues, the first area to examine is where you are holding onto these strong and toxic substances. This doesn’t mean there are situations or circumstances where righteous indignation calls for action. But if your reaction is to allow these toxins to rise up in your body, you are choosing to ingest poison over health.
