Reflecting back on our workshop with Gregg Braden and Dr. Bruce Lipton, I remain in awe of the power our hearts generate literally and figuratively. It’s from our heart that our spirits create connection and it’s from our hearts that we generate our true power. This is the seat of love and hate, and from this place we can create or destroy.
Centering in the heart is the most effective way to create harmony. Examining our heart is how we come to embrace our own identity and divinity. Each time I work with someone, I start by creating quiet so that my brain settles down and space is generated for my heart to step forward. It’s our hearts where intuition and connection to the cosmos begins and ends. In the quietness of my brain, I can then invite my heart to speak up. Picture if you will your brain standing center stage with the spotlight on it. Centering allows me to invite my heart to step out from behind the curtain and step into the light while the brain steps back somewhat into the shadows.
Now with the heart bathed in this pure white light, it can now speak with clarity and strength. It’s in this place where your inner truth lies. This light though isn’t harsh and blinding for it is softened in love. This is the place where your true power of healing and insight can shine. We generate a strong aura of positive energy and we enable miracles to unfold.
On the other hand, this same energy can be a source of great anger, pain, and injury. If what you harbor in your heart is hateful or vengeful, what then steps out into the light isn’t softened by love but instead can act as destructive lightening. What you speak in this case can inflict so much injury that years may not be enough to heal them. Remember that words have creative energy particularly when they come from the heart. So what you speak is what you ultimately create. And while you may intend this for someone or something else, it is sourced from your heart and therefore, it is what you will experience. Your heart is a mirror and so the reflection you get back is what you’re sending out.
I read a story recently of a father whose son had uncontrollable anger. No matter what he suggested to him, he wouldn’t control the outbursts. So he instructed his son to drive a nail into an old fence each time he lost his temper. Weeks went by and the nails accumulated in the fence. Yet the act of driving a nail into the fence began to have an affect on the boy. As time passed, the number of new nails lessened until one day his son came to him and noted that not a single new nail had been hammered into the fence in over a month. At that point, the father instructed his son to remove a single nail for each day he went without losing his temper. After some time, his son came to him and joyfully reported that all the nails were pulled from the old fence. It was then the father took the boy by the hand out to the old fence. He celebrated with his son and told him how proud he was. Finally, the father asked the boy to look carefully at the fence. He pointed out all the holes where once the boy had driven a nail into the wood in anger but had since pulled it out in recognition of his control over his tongue. The father then told his son that while it was easy to put the nail into the fence and equally so to pull it out, that it still left a hole. The moral of the story was that words spoken in anger even when taken back, still leave a hole.
So examine your heart carefully and reflect upon what comes forward. If you look within and experience the softness of love like a warm blanket on a cool evening, then celebrate that energy and let it shine forth. In this space you are creating love and it is love you will experience in return. On the other hand if you see there are still people or situations in your life where your heart still holds anger or hate, remember that each time you express that, you create another hole in the fence of your life and those holes may remain for a very long time.
