I was reflecting on the song by Gary Jules “Mad World” and how the words of this song seem to describe the lives of so many I experience on a daily basis. The great philosopher Henry David Thoreau frequently credited with the phrase “most lead lives of quiet desperation” also came to mind. Why is it that so many seem to be existing rather than truly living?
If life has no deeper and more significant meaning, then why live at all? What is the meaning of humanity if we are here to robotically go through the motions only to die without having lived? What is the purpose of free will if we choose to surrender ourselves to whatever society tells us we should do? Why even have a brain or heart when we allow the media, politicians, friends, bosses, or others to tell us how we should be, live, and what we should think or do?
Our Creator is not some cruel taskmaster who gets perverted joy out of watching us trudge through life suffering in a mere existence. No, we are called to something much greater both on a personal and cosmic level. Unfortunately in our modern society, we have become so obsessed with the mundane and pursuing the material that we have lost touch with the true meaning of life.
To live is to love. The light of the Cosmos is sourced in the energy of love. Our own light bodies are designed to resonate in this higher frequency. Material energy is the very lowest in the spectrum of life. When we remain fixed and focused on this earth plane, we become blinded to our higher calling. When we lose touch with the energy of love, we pursue physical pleasures and indulge in things that possess only temporary relief. The longer we remain attached to the physical plane, the further from our Creator we drift.
For some there comes a point where a moment of clarity presents us with a choice. We can choose the path less traveled into the higher frequencies of love or remain fixed with our feet in concrete to a life of quiet desperation. Faced with perpetual suffering like a hamster on a wheel, too many choose escapes into addictions and other destructive behaviors. Life is destroyed often long before the body itself gives up.
The meaning of life is to love. It may sound and appear simple, but to love is actually a challenge because it means loving even those who we despise (and sometimes that includes ourselves). When we send loving energy to others (most especially those we find objectionable), we actually in ways small and large help to transform them as well as ourselves. Self-destructive behaviors are quite simply a statement of self-hate. We don’t love ourselves enough to value the gift of life we have been given. We don’t believe ourselves worthy of love.
More than ever in the history of humanity, it is the frequency of love we are being called to elevate to and it has to start within. Recognize how loving and lovable you are. Look in the mirror and smile. Realize you have a higher calling and a vital purpose. Embrace this calling and elevate your frequency. It is the legacy of love that matters. We can change this world only through heart-centered love. Choose the road less traveled. Resist the temptations to resonate on the lower frequencies of hate and the material world. Recognize you are created with the power and divinity of the stars and you possess within the God seed of greatness.
