For those that set New Year’s intentions, you may have already found that the glow and enthusiasm has already started to tarnish and you find it increasingly difficult to stick to your commitments. The reasons why you may have already fallen back into old ways though is likely much deeper than simply having lost your determination. Transformations require us to first and foremost let go of the past.
We are at place in the Cosmos where tremendous change is upon us. The energy has been building since we entered the age of Aquarius, and December 2012 when the Mayan calendar reset. We are approaching a precipice of transformation that will undoubtedly change our lives and our world. Some may see this as the second coming of Christ and other traditions characterize it differently. Few however argue that the period we are now in is bringing forward a new age.
In my morning reflection, the movie Contact (yes one of my favorites) once again came to mind. As Dr. Arroway prepares to risk it all and step into the capsule, she argues with a number of scientists and engineers about the additional equipment they insist she must take with her on the journey. Not only were there personal items such as camera and sensors, but a large chair was bolted into the middle of the capsule. She relents in accepting these non-standard additions and straps in to begin a journey into the unknown. Here is where the connection with transformation came forward in my meditation.
If you recall in the movie, she is transported through a series of portals or wormholes. Each time, the chair she is strapped into shakes violently. It’s not until she decides to release herself from the seat that she finds herself effortlessly flowing with the energy and finally able to fully experience her new surroundings. For me, the chair represents the past, the old ways of doing things and the demands placed upon us by others we all too often accept as truth. Ultimately, to experience transformation, we need to unstrap from the chair of our past, limitations and failures we have held onto, and expectations or constraints others try to impose upon us.
Transformation begins by realizing that you are no longer constrained by what was. Picture your past as that chair you know is not required. While our past can sometimes guide us, it can also anchor us. We are approaching our own set of portals as our Universe beckons us onward and upward. If you choose to remain strapped into the chair, your ride will likely be more tumultuous and difficult. Leave the chair of your past behind and float freely into your future. If you let go, you’ll likely find yourself floating effortlessly into the next realm and be able to enjoy the journey all the more.
I believe in the transformative power of human connection to elevate joy, restore balance, and support inner healing as you seek your highest purpose. My purpose in life is to be a guide, to share the wisdom of the Universe I’ve been gifted with, and to see others succeed. Nothing brings me greater joy than to see others step into their purpose in a vibrant and highly energetic way.
